Our patients choose Austin Manual Therapy because they want to enjoy the activities they love to do without being limited by pain, weakness, stiffness, or injury.
If that’s your goal, then you’re in the right place!
Soon, you should receive an email from our scheduling software called Prompt that includes your digital intake paperwork, HIPAA privacy policy, and financial policy. In order to speed up the evaluation process, please complete these forms as soon as possible before your appointment, and you’ll be good to go!
Once you arrive, you will be greeted by one of our Patient Coordinators to begin your check-in process who will take payment prior to your appointment. Once check-in is complete your physical therapist will bring you back into the clinic to begin your evaluation.
All of our physical therapists are Fellows of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapists. What this means is our physical therapists have received the highest level of accreditation in their field.
We like to start your first visit by getting to know you, how your injury is impacting you, learn about any pertinent past medical history / injuries, and some goals you would like our help in achieving.
From there, we’ll dive into your evaluation in which your physical therapist will gently move through diagnostics while simultaneously keeping open dialogue the entire time so you understand what’s happening and why.
If there are any hands-on techniques we can perform during your evaluation to relieve your pain and discomfort, such as soft tissue mobilization, we will do so whenever necessary.
By the end of your first visit you will have answers on why you’re experiencing pain, what the root cause is, a personalized exercise program to work on to start making progress right away, and a clear game plan on how, together, we’ll get you back on the path to doing the activities that you love pain free again!
All patients must accept and agree to our cancellation policy – as failure to attend scheduled appointments not only disrupts your treatment progress, but also limits another patient’s progress who may have been able to attend in your place.
We understand life can be messy. If you are unable to attend a scheduled appointment you MUST give us at least 24 hours notice prior to your visit’s start time. Without a proper 24-hour notice, you will be charged 100% of your session cost. We appreciate your understanding of this.
We look forward to helping you create a foundation of lifelong health and wellness!
