Christine Brown, PT, DPT, ATC

A little bit about Christine:

A lot of physical therapists have a story about how physical therapy helped them or one of their loved ones, and then their eyes were opened to the world of PT. I was lucky enough not to have had that experience personally, but I knew I wanted a career that combined sport, science, and people, and PT was that perfect combo for me. It wasn’t until college as an athletic training student that I really saw the potential of rehabilitative medicine.
What kind of education did you attain to become a Physical Therapist?
I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Athletic Training from The University of Texas at Austin where I spent time working with collegiate athletes and learning from certified athletic trainers and physical therapists. I earned my Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, TX, and I am currently pursuing my clinical fellowship from the Manual Therapy Institute.
What is your favorite part about being a Physical Therapist?
My favorite part about being a physical therapist is being able to connect with my patients while fostering a healing environment. Each patient is an individual that presents uniquely and should be treated as such.
What do you like to do in your free time?
When I’m not in the clinic, I like to spend time with my husband, Rob, and my dog, Olive. I enjoy hiking, spending time in the gym, supporting the Longhorns, watching trash TV, and eating Tex-Mex.
